• Reason Started Cycling: I was born in Holland where I had to ride my bike for many years as my means of transportation. Then I did not ride my bike for over 20 years until I became a spinning instructor in the US and bought my first Tri-bike.
•  Racing Accomplishments: I entered in Triathlons in Clydesdale category and usually place in the top 5. Since I did not particular enjoy running as a 200 + lbs guy and beating myself up trying to get better, I decided to focus just on cycling racing in 2006.

Reason started cycling:  To get off blood pressure medication which was causing unpleasant side effects.  After about 1 month I was off the meds.

Racing Category- Cat 3(looking to downgrade) and Masters
Years of Cycling Experience- Raced from around 1980 to 1996. Just re-started this year (2009).
Reason Started Cycling- I ran track in high school and one year in college. Had always been attracted to cycling...the speed...the colors...the idea of challenging oneself not only against the other riders but the terrain and the elements.
Racing Accomplishments- Second place Masters CRCA Club Championships, 1st Place Senior Cat Harlem Cycling Championship, several other assorted placings on road and track, and a 4th place finish in my only Mountain Bike race.

• Reason Started Cycling: Injury to neck while motocrossing.
• Racing Accomplishments: nothing yet in cycling, but hopefully something very soon.  Lots of first place finishes in motocross.

• Reason Started Cycling: I have always had bicycles, but I think I became more interested once I saw Breaking Away and then went to Indiana University where the story took place. It would be several more years of off-and-on riding before I really got serious, but riding has always been a part of my life and always will be.
•  Racing Accomplishments: I'll let you know once I race. In a previous life I raced mountain bikes with a fair amount of success. In fact, when I renewed my racing license this year they have me listed as a Cat 2 offroad.... uh, yeah.
